About Me

Teddy Osei is a Ghanaian-born ceramic artist whose work examines the layered experiences of migration, identity, displacement, and memory. Working primarily with clay, found materials, and mixed-media processes, he creates sculptural vessels and installations that reflect the tension and transformation that occur when a person moves across cultures and reconstructs their sense of self. His practice combines wheel-throwing, hand-building, and the integration of objects that carry their own histories, allowing his work to speak to the fluidity, rupture, and continuity of lived experience.

Osei earned his MFA in Visual Studies from Missouri State University, an MA in Ceramics from Eastern Illinois University, and a BA from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and he has received recognitions including the NCECA Emerging Artist Fellowship and multiple grants supporting his creative research. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Ceramics and 3D Design Foundations at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.
